A little update

I haven't been putting much here probably because Facebook has taken over :-) and my last post was about the quilt I made for Rachael & Marc who got married a year ago today! So time to update things.

I spent the last two days participating in a craft show. I did fine but still have dolls to sell, so they will be up on Etsy soon.

And this year my entry in the Hoffman Challenge won 3rd prize! What a nice surprise. I had pictures, but my computer crashed, so you have to go the challenge website to see her http://www.hoffmanchallenge.com/2014challenge/winners14/dolls2014.html

Here are a few photos of recent work:

Quilt for Rachael & Marc

I made this quilt as a wedding gift for my friends Rachael & Marc. They are big Philadelphia Flyers fans and Rachael's favorite color is orange so I had to use orange and black in the quilt. This was fun to make - easier that you would think!

The Beatles Fan

This is a doll for my friend Sally who is a lifelong Beatles fan. This doll is about 18" tall and all fabric (except for the yarn hair). I dressed her as a Catholic school girl in honor of Sally.

My Hoffman Challenge Doll

This is my entry for the Hoffman Challenge this year. As usual, I didn't leave enough time to finish the way I wanted to and still get her mailed in time for the deadline. The challenge fabric is the leaf motif on her vest. I called her "Bluebird" for the little bird she is carrying.

My Steampunk Creation

I took a class at the AFICC Conference with Michele Lynch and made this wild girl. It was lots of fun and if you like this look, check out Michele's work here.

Some heads in progress

I have been working on some different heads - one old "reject" fabric sculpted head and two sculpted out of Darwi clay. Not sure what they will become, but I will keep posting as they develop.
